Isabella Cannell is a Registered European Lawyer with The Law Society of England and Wales, a Registered Brazilian Lawyer with the Ordem dos Advogados do Brasil (OAB) and a Registered Portuguese Lawyer with the Ordem dos Advogados - Portugal (OA). In 2001, Miss Cannell finished her LLB (Bachelor of Law) graduating from the prestigious University Pontificia Universidade Catolica do Parana, in Brazil. Miss Cannell furthered her studies and started an LLM in Company Law at the University Pontificia Universidade Catolica do Parana, in Brazil in 2002. After relocating to the UK in 2003 Miss Cannell completed an LLM in International Business Law with Merit at King’s College London in 2005.
Miss Cannell’s professional experience began with work during her studies for recognised law firms in Brazil such as Lysane Abbage Gomes Assessoria Juridica S/C, Paulo Turra & Advogados Associados, and Casillo Advogados. Thereafter Miss Cannell came to the UK and expanded her knowledge of English Law by working with the reputable British law firm Clyde & Co in their Latin American department. She joined Nabas Legal in 2006 and works with clients in English and Latin American legal systems. As a senior member of Nabas Legal her current main areas of expertise include: contract law, international law, company law, family, and employment law.

Mr. Bustamante is a lawyer from Venezuela with 21 years of experience in different legal areas such as administrative, corporate, civil and tax law. He has held various positions within the Venezuelan civil service where he became General Secretary of the Miranda State Parliament, where he advised on the drafting of vital regulatory bills like the Constitution of the Miranda State, the Citizen Participation Act and Stamp Duties Act, among others. He also served as representative of the state Legislature to many diplomatic representations in Venezuela. Within the private sector, Mr. Bustamante has served as legal counsel to various commercial wholesalers and retailers of both manufacturing and service sectors. He also taught Economic Policy at Santa María University in Caracas, and was a member of the Board of the Miranda State Lawyers Bar for two consecutive terms. Mr. Bustamante maintains close relations with major law and investment firms in the United States, Spain, Colombia, Panamá, Ecuador and Venezuela.

An experienced and respected diplomat whose service in the Foreign and Commonwealth Office took him to Europe, Africa, Asia, the Caribbean and the Americas. His final assignment was British Ambassador to Brazil.
Earlier appointments had included Senior Trade Commissioner in Hong Kong and simultaneously Consul General to Macau, High Commissioner to the Bahamas, Deputy Director General of British Information Services in New York and Minister in Nigeria.
On leaving the Foreign Service he has had a wide range of commercial experience, which includes Advisor to the Board of HSBC Investment Bank, Advisor to the BOC Group, Chairman of Regal Petroleum, Advisor to Amerada Hess, and in trade promotional activities such as Chairman of the Brazil Chamber of Commerce in the UK and member of the International Committee of the CBI. He is currently Chairman of Moorgate Capital as well as Advisor to Nabas Legal International Lawyers.

A vital member of the NL team, Mrs Beron leads the immigration and civil procedures services team. Her educational background includes a degree in law at Universidad Libre de Colombia in 1987; Mrs Beron furthered her education in the UK and completed a MBA in refugee studies at East London University in 2001. Mrs Beron, worked for prestigious law organisations in Colombia for several years until moving to the UK. She continued expanding her experience by joining several community groups and is Chair of Resident Tenants Associacion in a wide Afro-Caribbean area in south London, Vice-Chair to the Lilford Estate Women’s Action Group, as well as being a member of Committee of Latin American Studies Group, plus other institutions related to the service and welfare of the Latin American community in the UK.

A graduate of the Autónoma University of Lisbon, Portugal, Mrs. Macedo provides to the NL team her extensive experience in civil law. She also has experience in litigation, pre-litigation and debt matters.
An important part of her duties is to analyze, pursue, and manage European citizenship cases.

A lawyer graduated from the San Judas Tadeo University, Sao Paulo, and a Registered Portuguese lawyer with the Ordem dos Advogados - Portugal (OA), Miss Bueno is the representative of NL in Portugal based in Lisbon. Miss Bueno’s professional experience covers Corporate and Contract Law; Also NL’s public law and consumer rights. In charge of NL’s Portugal branch, Miss Bueno is also responsible for immigration issues and advising entrepreneurs in local negotiations and all who wish to have trade relations with Brazil and Portugal. |

Roseli de Oliveira, another lawyer on our team, completed her studies at the University of São Judas Tadeu, São Paulo, Brazil in 1999. She then came to the United Kingdom and completed her MBA at the University of Wales, Institute of Cardiff, in 2009.
After gaining further experience working in her home country, working for various companies such as the National Institute of Social Security, Public Transportation Cooperative Community, and the Junior Bar Association, in areas such as labor and civil law, Mrs. de Oliveira moved to the United Kingdom in 2005, adding further qualifications in Labor Law in 2006, and an MBA in 2009.
In the Nabas Legal team, she works in the areas of immigration, civil and family law.

Sanjeev Harash qualified as a Solicitor in 2008 and is the latest member to join our team. Having trained and practised at a general solicitor’s partnership in Harrow, Sanjeev developed a specialization in commercial related matters and property related litigation. Sanjeev has also advised in other areas, including drafting tax efficient wills, and has obtained probates on a variety of estates. Furthermore, he has acted for purchasers and sellers of residential and commercial properties, and has firsthand experience of dealing with commercial disputes.
Much of Sanjeev’s commercial background stems from his childhood. His family were market traders, who retailed a variety of goods, including affordable ladies fashion and mobile telephone accessories. From the age of 11, Sanjeev was trading on market stalls, and from the age of 18 went on to manage clothing stores across West London, whilst maintaining his studies in Law at the University of North London.
In 2009, Sanjeev took a short break from the legal profession and entered the licensing trade where he managed a pub in his home town. With his experience of working in the licensing trade he has specialist insight on licensing law.
Sanjeev is trilingual: apart from English, he is fluent in Hindi and Punjabi. |
